What a lovely day it's been, really spring like and all the neighbours seem to have been doing outside stuff.... and so was I.
The roofer finished off this morning, while I moved yesterday's path onto the drive so that I could rake the soil more level. I planted a winter jasmine and a bright orange pyracantha against the garage wall before thinking again about the path. I want it to go past the raspberries and the bird feeders on it's way to the bench, which should catch a bit of evening sun.
I'm using slabs that were already here and there are just enough. The ones near to the seating area need jiggling to make the best use of them, but it was enough for today, I've got most where I want them to be and sometime soon I'll bed them in properly. Not in the next four days though, I'm busy!
I was being really careful with my back, not having done any heavy lifting for a while, but it's survived and I've got a hot water bottle behind me now just to make sure.
The highlight of the day was when I hung the washing out this morning, looked up and noticed a buzzard circling lazily over the fields housing estate to be. Magic from the back garden.
Extra: still fiddling and no need to returf, I can move the grass that won't be needed when the patio's been extended.
