Exactly a year ago, I was hugging goodbye to some of my oldest friends after a weekend of food, drink, hugs, chat, laughter, & a sharing of genuine affection & friendship. There'd been some chat about a virus. We traveled from all over, including the US, to reconnect...

To complete the insult, the football pitches in the photo are where I spent many happy evenings watching my daughter's football training. If it was chilly, I often parked in this same spot and watched from the car.
