Change of M.O.?

Rather than wander and click - this time it was Click and wonder?

Some time ago now, A.N.A.D 50 years in fact, we supposedly, were metricated.
For many moons after all that was done was alter the weight on the label.
Understandably there'll be some time while the existing equipment wears out and is replaced, but it's very recently that the 1/2 pound ≈ 227gm pats of butter became 250gm and a pound of honey, in the same jar, is still marked as 454gm, IF you can find one; they're almost invariably now in 340 gm jars which is A.N.A.D.≈ 11.99 better known as 3/4lb.

What got me wondering was 710 gm. however.
It's fairly close to 1.5lb ≈ 1.57 Although, if you're straying from 700, 690 is  almost as good and nearer ≈ 1.52lb
AND the 462gm is no guide on two counts.
1. Converted to imperial it's 1.02 lb
BUT:-
2. The last honey I bought was in a jar labelled 710gm and it has NO drained weight.

In all fairness I have to admit that, in this case, the jar is a year or three past its BBE date; but while not saleable it's still perfectly edible, or I'd have been ill/dead/poorly several times in the last 4 years.
