Puddle Art

The road is now clear of snow thanks to warmer daytime temperatures, but overnight they plummet and any puddles of standing water refreeze producing some interesting patterns. Drawn by the sun and blue sky, I went out earlier and discovered them before they could melt.

I was drawn to this image in part because of the resemblance to a mountain scene, which of course is only in my mind's eye.

I find editing in the morning I make the image too light and looking at them again in the afternoon, I need to adjust them. With these images in particular, I also find myself endlessly tinkering with the exposure and contrast to bring out finely balanced details.

Extra: Puddle Art II.
