I am astonished

Clearing bags of slack from the coal store, i lifted one and my eye caught a flicker of movement. On looking, i realised i was looking at a patch of black dust the shape of a folded butterfly wing. Lifted it out, the wing gave a whisper of movement with a tiny flash of red, and it stood on the heavy duty gardening glove i was wearing.

Was it just a corpse, caught by the breeze and its feet stuck to the glove? I offered it my finger and it stepped on!

Now tucked back in a dark and sheltered corner.
