Coniston Old Man from across Coniston Water

At last, some mountain scenery. On my Facebook wall I posted that today was a "day of days" One of those days which will lodge in the memory for ever more. Another stunning day weatherwise, with clear blue skies and almost flat calm. Little to disturb the mirror like qualities of the lake.

Took loads of pictures today and found it difficult to choose which to post.

After driving around the eastern shore of the lake, had lunch in Coniston and then drove to Skelwith Bridge to do a walk to Elterwater, Grasmere and Loughrigg Tarn. Some great veiws there too, especially around Elterwater itself, with the Langdale peaks in the background.
