Auto glass

Our landlord's son came with me yesterday to help get the driver's side mirror replaced. The job was crude but effective. The worker traced the size of glass that I needed onto a larger piece of broken mirror and then cut the extra away. The new mirror is held in place by silicone sealant. When I asked about a warranty, he gave his phone number and told me to call if there is a problem. Hope it holds!

As a side note, this is a HDR photo. HDR means high dynamic range. The smartphone takes two or three pictures, very quickly, of a scene. It then blends the best bits together. It's great for high contrast scenes. In the non HDR version of this shot, the sky is overexposed and you can't see clouds at all, only featureless whiteness. Previously, even on dSLRs, you had to take two or more separate shots and blend them in Photoshop or something. I think it's pretty meat that a smartphone can do all this. Now, if they can only invent a proper zoom...
