New BBQ Spot

(6.3.21)
It got very hectic on Friday, so this blip is a day late.

The day started nice and leisurely - just how weekends should be. The first Friday of the month is a communion service and as we are online, everyone has to do their own preparation for it. G always does ours.

After lunch, we attended the eight-session of the Christians in Creation course. Today's session had more discussion, so much so, we had to leave before it ended as we had a BBQ to get to. Our friends Gladson and Susan are free this Friday and we decided to check out a new spot at Jadaf Walk.

I like that it is closer to home and more central. At the moment, it isn't too crowded but the breeze today. Even the gas lighter couldn't hold on to its flame to set the coal off. The exciting thing was using the new IKEA BBQ that SweetArt gave us for Christmas for the first time. It worked really well and is very compact.

It was the hottest day so far this year. The temperature dropped when the sun went down and the strong breeze made it bearable, even if it threw up a bit of sand! The evening was pleasant, but around 10 pm, the temperature took a sharp drop and it felt positively cold. It's all relative, but after being in the mid-'30s, 21 deg was cold!

We got home, unpacked and I did all the washing up. The grill of the new BBQ though is proving to be a huge challenge! In the end, I had to soak it in soapy water overnight, hoping that will do the trick.
