Slow Frogs

Village conservation group have now put up a kilometre or so of amphibian fencing along a road that divides fields from the local lakes. In the coming weeks the frogs, toads and newts which are migrating from the fields into the lakes for their annual mating, will be carried across the road twice a day - once shortly after dark and again as sun comes up.

Motorists are asked by a detour sign to avoid using the road during darkness and if used, to follow the 30 km/h speed limit.
