Former McDonald Road Power Station

The McDonald Road Power Station was a coal-fired power generating station built for Edinburgh Corporation Electricity Department in 1898-99 and supplied electricity to domestic, commercial and industrial consumers, and for street lighting. The Italian Renaissance basilica elevation and the red brick boiler-house chimney are still evident on McDonald Road.
