The Village

No lie-in for me this morning. Mr K buggared off went back over to Oxford for day two of his networky conference thing!
So it was just me and the Little Misses again. I woke up in a bad mood and they woke up in loud screechy stubborn moods so it wasn't a particularly harmonious household!!!
I read an article yesterday about the perils of "babying" your kids and over-organising their lives.
So I ignored them and did housework and ebayed and went on Facebook while they played. Textbook parenting apparently!!
They made little wooden villages, drew pictures of Star-Man and Star-Girl (who apparently live in Miss E's wardrobe along with the pirates and fairies. It's getting pretty crowded in there!!) who fly around scattering stars in their wake! They went out on the swing and then dug for worms and looked for rats in the bushes. Nice! They bounced on the trampoline and did jigsaw puzzles on it. And they moaned and whinged about being hungry. Constantly!
At 4pm it was off to a joint birthday party for two of Miss E's classmates. I took Miss L along and had arranged for Mr K to pick her up on his way back and take her home for dinner halfway through the party. They both ended up staying until the end and we had a nice time chatting and drinking tea while the kids ran around for an hour and then stuffed themselves full of party food.
7.15pm and they're both fast asleep in bed. Woohoo!!
