A time for everything

Return to Knitting ministry!

Tuesday
This morning our knitting group met for the first time since last October. We had met in September and October, masked and outside, but then the weather coupled with rising numbers got in the way! It was so good to see everyone again, you felt you wanted to give everyone a hug, but of course that is a long way off yet! We sat at individual tables, as we knitted and chatted, but then Joan, the group leader wanted a group photo, so I’m afraid we broke the distancing rule for a minute or so, but as you can see we were all wearing our masks, and I expect everyone there had received at least one vaccine shot. As you can imagine, not having met for almost 6 months, and with everyone spending most of their time at home, there were plenty of items to be blessed - prayer shawls, baby blankets for Project Linus, scarves, and Charma, who specializes in baby hats which go to the maternity unit at the local hospital, had knitted 50-60 baby hats!
My blip shows our group of knitters plus the items I took in - two Prayer shawls, a Linus blanket and a scarf.
When I got home we had another coffee, then since it was a warm dry day, we got the tall ladder out of the garage, and finally got the Christmas lights down from the gutters at the top of the house - ever since January it’s always been too cold, too snowy or the ground too wet for it to be safe.
After that it was time for us to head up to Hamilton for our second Moderna Covid vaccine. So far so good, we’re not feeling any side effects yet. After our shots, we went for a walk in nearby Rentschler Forest, before going for a late lunch/early dinner at Northstar Cafe at Liberty Center on our way home.
