IKB's SS Great Britain

Today's stamp is another nautical one from the same series as this one. As constructed it was the longest passenger ship in the world from 1845 to 1854. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, for the Great Western Steamship Company's transatlantic service between Bristol and New York City. At the time this stamp was issued the ship had been scuttled and abandoned off the Falkland Islands since 1937, but it was raised and is currently the a museum ship.

Still spinning plates at work, so far they are in the air and not on the floor in pieces...!
