C for code

Back blip - still catching up.

Interesting day today. Some of the software we sell has a licence key, where by you need to give it a string of letters and then it works for a while and eventually expires if you don't feed it a new string of letters later on. It's all well and good, however the program we use to generate the key doesn't work anymore and it's something written a long time ago, using technology that isn't something we normally use. I had to create a new version using software we do understand and on a platform we can actually support. The actual encryption used is antique and primitive, but with a good key, and given that text we want to encrypt is only short, it is reasonably secure. Today's blip is an ASCII table I was looking at briefly to get inspiration on how to make the program work.
