Mayrhofen, Day 3.

Just a half-day today! We got up early again but by 10am (apple-strudel-and-hot-chocolate o'clock) our muscles were starting to feel the burn a bit, and M's socks were pretty uncomfy (I use proper ski socks but since he's a snowboarder he usually just wears normal ones - today he'd made a bad choice). We went all the way up the Schneekar (honestly - these lift names really make me smile) and made our way down a really long Red back to Pilzbar, where we had some lunch before making our way back down the Penkenbahn.

It was only 12.30 so we decided to get showered and changed and book ourselves a full body massage at Hotel Strass - it was amazing! A full 45-minutes of smoothing out all those painful muscles, with relaxing music. Afterwards, M and I were a little dazed, but we made it back to the chalet in time for a couple of drinks.

It was the hosts' days off today, so we were left to choose our dinner destination. M and I didn't go far: just downstairs to a restaurant close to the chalet. We had a huuuuge cheese fondue - M has never eaten it before and was a bit shocked when the massive pot of molten cheese arrived with enough bread to feed an army and twenty other little pots of things to dip in. Needless to say, we managed to eat it all, but felt too full afterwards to even consider going anywhere other than back to the chalet for bed!

Only 16km skied today - we need to pick it up tomorrow to burn off that cheese!

To see the runs/places I'm talking about, there's a map here.
