Magpie Moth

I love these black day-flying moths, but they rarely settle or stay still. This one did, but it rested on a black plastic bucket so that it looks brown instead of velvety black. My ambition is to get a shot of one with the wings open to reveal the surprising brightly striped body.

The caterpillar is cute too.
