Ferment

At last signs of open water, not on the lake, but along the inlet which, being shallower, presumably heated up more quickly. It was windy creating a current that pushed the water and whatever was floating on it into drifts of sandy brown frothy foam, which at first I thought to be melting ice.

The action on the foam created twisty ridges, depending on the ebb and flow of the water beneath, that were emphasized by a low sun. I took a variety of shots looking for interesting patterns, which reminded me of the ariel views of landscapes of Edward Burtynsky.
