Avacyado

Today at lunchtime it was the kind of light that is interesting for blipping: bright, dramatic clouds and lots of shadows.

I saw a man whose shoes reminded me of the blocky feet of a toeless witch in the 1990s film version of Roald Dahl’s book.

Three principal questions of the day are:

Why do some northern Irish accents insert a ‘y’ into the word avocado? Nadine Coyle generates hours of entertainment.

Why do super muscled men in their 20s walk around in only t-shirts on a very cold March night? I don’t ask only out of envy, but out of genuine concern for their health.

Does the phrase ‘take no prisoners’ mean ‘go at it so hard that no one survives to be incarcerated because everyone’s dead on the battlefield’? What a dark saying.
