STILL FROZEN

Most of the snow is gone...for the time being...but the lakes are still frozen over. However, the ice is darkening and that means a thaw is on the way in the next couple of weeks. With the high winds we've been having lately the ice will break up quickly once it thaws from the shoreline.  

On Lake Winnebago, the largest inland lake in Wisconsin, sometimes the "ice shoves" due to the high winds get taller than the trees and occasionally impact homes along the lake shore.

More snow is scheduled for tonight into Monday.....might be a biggie.
