Meeting my Irish friend J on Wednesday for a walk. As it will be St Patrick's Day I have just made a barmbrack to celebrate our Irish heritage. It is best eaten after a few days storage. Only had Scotch whisky to soak the fruit but I'm sure our mothers would forgive this lapse. We will toast their memories with good, strong tea, naturally.
