Wound up in Wexford

Spring?

We drove 10 miles (each way) to Ashwellthorpe Lower Wood today, to walk somewhere different.  We didn't get away from the mud, but it was nice to see somewhere different.  It's only a small nature reserve, but with a lot of promise for interesting things to see.  The more central part of the reserve is largely coppiced, but the edges are described as "derelict woodland", and it seemed appropriate that they accommodated a selection of derelict trailers.

We saw our first primroses of the year, and there were lots of bluebells in the making.  Birds were singing, and the sun was shining intermittently.  And, thank goodness, the wind had dropped.
