Shovelling shite

Today I have been mostly shovelling shite! Really! Russell, to whom this fine steaming pile belongs, invited us to take as much as we wanted so we did. Himself collected the trailer (we share it with two other families) and very skillfully manoeuvred it up the tiny torturous road up the mountain, did a u turn at the top then came back halfway down to Russell's place. The wheelbarrow was placed below the pile and we got to work. It's fine stuff (if you remember, the horse is supposed to have belonged to the Aga Khan so the quality is legendary) but it was knackering! Full trailer we headed home and the contents have already been distributed on some of the beds. One barrowful has gone in the polytunnel - perhaps I should have removed the sheets first, where they are hanging to dry! Another trailerful will be required as it doesn't go far.

Russell's place is amazing - it was originally a ruin and he has restored it all himself - he's currently working on the right hand side part of the building and has just made some beautiful sash windows. Biggify to see cement mixers and more potential. Geese, chickens, horses, cats, dogs and a tame wild rabbit (!) are all part of the family here.
