Wound up in Wexford

Zak's takeaway

Zak's, just down the road from us in Poringland, does an excellent line in burgers, including several varieties of veggieburger for W.  We have always previously eaten in the restaurant - but of course that isn't an option at the moment.

So when I fancied a change (and a meat meal) and suggested Zak's, it had to be takeaway this time.  When we go to Zak's, I usually have a steak, but they don't do steak as a takeaway, so it had to be a burger - though I did opt for the chicken - which is not a burger, but a large slice of chicken breast.  Zaks have got themselves quite well organised for Covid safe takeaway - you book a time on the internet, and they ring you to take your order, and card payment.  Then at the appointed time, you drive into the carpark and they bring the meal out to your car.

We thoroughly enjoyed our treat, though the sweet potato fries were not as warm as we're used to when eating in.  And of course, far too many.  We'll try reheating the left over fries in the oven tomorrow - they're not likely to be as crispy, but will probably still be edible.

Earlier, W braved the cold wind and gave several of our shrubs a haircut, filling the garden waste bin, which is due for collection tomorrow.
