Focus On The Wrong Thing
I was in a 3 hour workshop this morning. Be very glad you weren't.
I'm not a fan of "Blue Sky Stinking Thinking". It usually means that people have heard senior management using terms that mean very little but they are now HUGELY IMPORTANT because.
At one point we were treated to 30 minutes of "How do you rate these sentences on a scale of 1 (weak) to 10?" And it was buzzwords in various orders - but keep repeating the buzzwords. You think that sounds bad, they then picked the 10 with the highest ratings and we had to give our opinions on them.
Seriously I wanted someone to shoot me.
I'm not suited to these sort of things. They can go on and on about how important ALL of these things are and how they will revolutionise the way we work. They won't. They never do. As a mainframe programmer, you can't deliver parts of a solution. It either does all the things it's meant to or it's not working.
After 3 hours of that, I was not good company.
