The Glimmer Of Hope

There's a saying in German - Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt - aber sie stirbt.  It means "Hope dies last, but it dies".  I hear this a lot in planning meetings.

It was Friday and Friday decided not to be nice.  My network connection suddenly disappeared - in the middle of a phone call and nothing reacted, every application just died on my work pc - outlook, teams, mainframe IDz - everything.

No reason - just gone.

These things drive me (even more) demented.

I can't do anything to protect myself from it - it doesn't matter what I do.

"It doesn't matter what I do" might seem like a harmless sentence but for me it's a Hilti hammer blow to my confidence.

I'm going to stop.  I need quiet and time alone.
