New Jigsaws

Here's a couple of new jigsaws that I've finished in the last week, I'm running out of charity shop bought ones, so had to buy a few new ones. I like to do an easier one like these with lots of colours and shapes after doing a few more difficult ones. Continuous rain and very cold most of today, so as well as jigsaws I did a bit of admin and had a nice long catch up with two of my sisters.

Day 367 / Day 72 of Lockdown 3 / Day 11 of Step 1 of Roadmap out of Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 95 to 125,926 (revised basis), with 6,303 new cases, 7,218 patients in hospital, 968 on ventilation and 426 new admissions. 25.7m have now received their first dose of the vaccine and 1.9m have had their second dose. The news on reduction in vaccine supply yesterday has been clarified as being due to a delay in a shipment (5m doses?) from India and the need to re-test a 1.7m batch for stability in the UK (no reason was given for either and I suspect there's a bigger story). The PM says it won't affect the overall vaccine delivery plan or the roadmap dates. The MHRA says that there is no evidence of blood clots in veins from either vaccine. There have been 5 cases of blood clots in the brain (CSVT) and low blood platelets and as a result new guidance has been issued as a precautionary measure that anyone having the AZ vaccine should seek medical attention if they have a headache for 4 days after the jab or if they have bruising other than at the injection site after a few days. To give it context, the CMO said it was 5 cases out of 11m, also no causal effect has been found. The EMA has now reported as expected that the AZ vaccine is 'safe and effective' and recommends that governments include possible side effects in product info. Out of the dozen countries suspending rollout, Italy, Latvia and Lithuania have already said they're resuming their rollout. Interestingly the CMO said that 20 vaccinations of the at risk population would save 1 death, whereas it would need 8,000 vaccination of younger groups to save 1 death. I've always been concerned about the delay to 12 weeks from the manufacturer's recommendations and effectiveness evidence for the Pfizer vaccine - one of the risks of this that the Press have only recently caught on to is to do with vaccine supply uncertainty and the risk of not getting the 2nd jab on time (less risk for AZ as the evidence shows a growing effect over time). A shocking report today by the CQC that 500 people were given 'do not resuscitate' decisions made during the pandemic where families were not properly involved or even aware, breaching human rights.
