Scamander

We have been digging out another border this afternoon.  It's south facing and gets the sun but the plants in it have never really amounted to anything.  Tony also had to employ all of his tool kit to remove a fuschia bush which had serious underground roots.  We took out all of the white bells which are the only plant which does well.  They won't be going back in but the crocosmia bulbs will be.

In digging out around the fuschia, Tony thought he had come across a slug and was about to whack it with his spade when he realised it was this very muddy newt.  He took him/her up to the allotment and s/he disappeared in to the pond in seconds.

I've had a bit of lower back discomfort over recent days so I haven't been out for a run.  When we finished in the garden, we went out for a trial run.  I did just a short circuit whilst Tony continued over the moor.  Fingers crossed the back is okay and I can go a bit further next time.

The countdown to Line of Duty is on!
