Little fishes

The usual start of month mad rush to get all the numbers in and KPIs produced today. Should all be done by lunch tomorrow.

A big problem with a business that has changed little over many years and then subject to massive business change, drives for efficiency etc, is that the systems needed simply don't exist. We're having to hand craft processes to acquire data and crunch it in a sensible manner. However, from a start a couple of years ago, we've managed to demonstrate massive improvements in performance in many areas of the business.

It all leaves little time (and brain capacity) to focus on anything else when we're doing this. Every day is draining mentally. Doing things consistently is critical, even though there's something new to add into the processes each month.

So, after a day doing that, its pretty much an emergency blip tonight - albeit a nice colourful one. This is an ornament that we bought several years ago in Portugal. Its a glass nightlight holder. Not illuminated by a candle on this occasion I'm afraid. I tried that, but is wasn't bright enough. Instead, I used a small maglight torch. Camera on a tripod, high(isn) ISO, small aperture to get nice DoF even at a long shutter speed.

The ornament itself is round, so it was difficult to get a decent view of both fishes, impossible even. But, I hope the effect is suitably shown.
