Back To The Mud

A mono shot of the seed potatoes sprouting on the window sill.  The ground is nearly warm enough for them.  They are the Pink Fur Apple variety, a rather tasty waxy new potato.

We really like them, they are particularly excellent served cold in Salad Niçoise later on in the Summer when the weather finally gets warm - you do remember warm sunshine don't you?

They do look a little bit strange though.  When you eventually harvest them later on, it can be a little disconcerting as the smaller ones look for all the world like severed toes or fingers.

If you enjoy Joe Abercrombie you will understand the  "back to the mud" reference :-)
