Chapel in the Woods

L3 Day 91. It is now a whole year since we went into our first lockdown...a couple of days before Boris told us to! No nice sunshine today so just a bike ride in the local area around some streets, not in the park which is so busy at weekends. I passed both of the St Mary’s University campuses...the main one and the additional sports grounds at the Teddington Lock campus. The latter they bought from Shell when the Lensbury ceased to run lots of sports teams and when members from the local community were able to join, not just Shell employees. For many months now there has been a walk- in Covid testing centre in the sports ground car park.
At Strawberry Hill there is a large chapel built in 1962 but as seen in the blip there is also a very small chapel called the Chapel in the Woods built in 1772 for Horace Walpole, which was originally in the grounds of Strawberry Hill House. Subsequent buildings for the college means it is no longer in woods it is near the Car Park and very near the road!
