A Fallen Giant

This fallen tree has quite a presence when you walk past it. I'm afraid I couldn't get all of into the photo as it's so tall. (Well, it would have meant standing a long way further back anyway!)

I found it buried deep in a part of the wood where people don't normally go. I found it quite moving to see such a magnificent tree struck down so completely and in a place where virtually no one would have even noticed - apart from birds and animals.
