The Last Light

A very pleasant day indeed.   We took advantage of being allowed to meet up with another household in the garden, having my Mum and Chris over for tea and cake this afternoon.   Really nice to just sit and chat for a while in the sunshine although the breeze was chilly.   Jamie played his violin for us which sounded great through the open windows.  An extra pic to mark the event.   Later friend Luke, who works at the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum, attached to Wharf station, came and sat with us in the back garden - where the sun had moved round to - chat and online games .... plus Luke's flapjack and more cake!    I was also planting more seeds and snapped a few pics of the flowers in my cold frames - another extra pic of Fritillaria elwesii.

Then Jamie set off to watch the sunset with Katie while I took Meg for a run at Bailey Bridge where the views inland are always good.   The sunset lit the hills golden at first but the blip is truly the last of the sunlight hitting the distant hills and clouds above.   Magic!
