Beached

After a visit to the dentist, Berry and I had a wonderful bounce at Inganess beach. Such calm seas this morning and lovely sky. It's always odd to see a shipwreck just sitting plonked in the bay there, looking like it's full steam ahead coming to shore!

I didn't take a picture of that one (my hands were a bit full!) but the blipped wreck comes from an afternoon walk with a friend. This ship is the 'Irene' that drifted ashore in a storm in March 1969. All the crew were rescued but tragically the 8 crew of the lifeboat sent out to them died after their boat capsized. I knew about the latter but didn't realise it was this ship.
