Things To Make And Do

Newly planted near to where I live - this is on a managed area of the River Soar's flood plain called Aylestone Meadows that is a wedge of 'urban countryside' poking into the south of the city of Leicester. Aylestone Meadows is accessible on foot by many of Leicester's citizens, including me, and is somewhere I often walk, although less so in the winter when it can get rather soggy. Today it was extremely pleasant in the spring sunshine, though.

Aylestone Meadows already has some wooded areas and by the looks of it they are creating more. Previously this field was more scrub and brambles. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the next few years.
