misty morning

down to New Lanark for just after 9 to do my volunteering stint instead of tomorrow as I have to go to Edinburgh for a meeting. It was a frosty, misty morning, but by the time I came out after lunch the sun was shining. mind you the doom and gloom merchants say we are in for rain tomorrow!

I took a few quick compact snaps, and quite like the atmosphere of this one. This is the smallest of the Falls of Clyde, Dundaff Linn, which just sits at the edge of the village. The building with the chimney is the old gas retort house and the other building is the back of the Scottish Wildlife Trust's Visitor Centre. The river isn't particularly high just now, as you can see in the foreground, and just round the bend above the waterfall there is a weir and sluice gate that diverts the river into the Mill Lade, where is it used to make hydro electricity.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
