In the greenhouse.

The time has come when little treasures begin to flower in the greenhouse.

This is Primula allionii. It is a native of southern France and northern Italy and grows on cliffs between 2,000 and 6,000 feet. In the UK it needs to be kept in a greenhouse or alpine house. In winter it should be watered very sparingly and only from below.

It is a favourite of alpine gardeners.
