Back Country

I turned the corner at the head of the inlet to find this scene which caught my eye in an instant. It was, I think, the calm water, reflections and shapes that attracted me.

I remember selecting a narrower aperture than usual, in part because of the long focal length and depth of field, but also to smooth any movement in the water.

I processed the file with reduced saturation, bringing out the tonal range and emphasizing the reflections. I decided to add a touch of blueish-green split toning into the shadows, to contrast with the yellows of the reeds.
