Bienvenue à Bordeaux

After a quick panic this morning due to the lateness of trams (tiny bit of frost on the ground, I needed to be somewhere, of course they were running late!) arriving on platform A and needing to be on Platform F with two minutes before the train left I was resigned to getting the next train and arriving late in Bordeaux. However, I was helped by two charming Frenchmen who ran with my case to the right platform with me limping behind them, and managed to jump on the train just before it left. Boy, there were some strange people on the train...it wasn't even like it was really late in the evening or anything like that! Anyhows, all went well...including my changes between trains (next platform along, really handy!) and I met up with Hugo in glorious warmth and sunlight. Apparently it is pretty much the first day it has been warm in a very long while, but we'll pretend it's like that every day!

Being Hugo and myself, the first thing we went to do was to buy food and a celebratory beer, and headed off to enjoy the sunlight by the water. Will be honest, not needing a coat was a welcome change! Starting to attempt to orientate myself for when I'm home alone and Hugo is at university, so I can head out to do a little exploring on my own so he's not always worried about what to do with me! Hugo had to go to a seminar so I was home alone for a few hours, and managed to catch up with my photographs. Was asked by a specialist third year abroad website to write an article about Blip, and today it was published! You can find it here.

I genuinely had no idea that Blip would allow me end up writing something like this, let alone have it published...hopefully I may have inspired someone else to do something similar! If you have a few minutes, please do take a look as I hope I have expressed my sentiments clearly and well enough for all (although I did spell Blipfoto right, they just changed it!).

Anyways, back to the evening...we ended up meeting up with Natasha and heading out to 'Wok to Walk', pretty much the Wok and Go of France. Had an awesome beef and broccoli sweet and sour pot with udon noodles...pretty epic, not going to lie. Hugo and I then ended up going to a lovely little bar for some sangria before heading back to the flat for chocolate and my first Bordeaux vin en Bordeaux. This is going to be a good week.
