Joey / Junges Känguru

Apparently baby kangaroos are tiny when born - barely the size of a bean - yet they somehow instinctively manage to climb to their mother’s pouch.

They are so small and undeveloped that they can’t yet suckle, so once they find a teet it expands so they are locked on, and then milk is pumped into them...

What’s more, the mother can get pregnant again straight away, but can then pause the gestation until the older sibling is ready to vacate the pouch. Amazing nature!
