Quod oculus meus videt

Lattice of Branches

I probably walk passed these trees once a week on average throughout a year.  During the winter they fascinate me, bare of leaves, presenting their framework for all to see.  I often wonder how to capture what I see as they rarely get caught by the sun because they sit in a bowl and the lower angle of the sun at this time of year tends to be blocked by the surrounding land and plantation trees.  We think winter isn't a colourful time, but it is and I love the subtle purple hues of the thin branches of the silver birch.
