A local walk

Knowing it was forecast to be a good day we left straight after breakfast for a local walk.  It was still cloudy as we crossed White Bridge where two swans glided towards us, see extra.  We headed along the path above the river and turning east towards the coast.  We hadn't spotted that many birds but as we walked towards the coast we could hear and saw several skylarks, some very close to us.  Then we spotted black caps, wheatears and watched a hare in the distant field.  The skylarks were fairly plentiful and a joy to hear.  This was the view as we headed back home.

An afternoon of sourdough making followed.
