Guildhall

I had an early morning appointment with the GP for a second steroid injection in my finger and this was done very efficiently and quickly.  This gave me time to go out with the walking group.  It was a fairly cloudy day with a walk of 8 miles and described as an energetic walk not for the faint hearted.  I did therefore expect some hills but they weren't too bad, just on one case extremely long but we stopped for lunch then at the top.  The walk started at Bradninch a small town with several historic buildings.  This guildhall was originally built in the 12th Century but appeared to have been burnt down many times since then.  This current building was built in 1835.

We were a smallish group but surprisingly 2 of the group had brought their dogs.  Fortunately the dogs accepted each other and they were kept on their leads throughout.   The walk headed out towards Silverton and then back to Bradninch via fields, paths and lanes. Unfortunately we did walk through several fields with young lambs causing the sheep to quickly move away.  If the weather had been clearer then we would have been rewarded with some very good views but it was an enjoyable walk nevertheless in an area I hadn't explored much before.
