Project 365 day 88: sunshine and shadows

It was a perfect, sunny spring day today, with lovely light filtering through the shrubs onto the flowering currants and the forsythia. 

It has been a sad day, as we joined a family funeral via the live stream. My sister-in-law had just turned fifty. Her youngest child had his thirteenth birthday last week. Her older sister and two young adult children read beautiful, personal tributes and organised a very positive occasion, with the permitted fifteen people and a humanist celebrant. We were grateful that the technology worked well, with excellent sound quality, and very much regret that at present it would not have been practical or advisable for us to travel and stay overnight in order to be there in person.
