Goat Willow

I think this is the female catkin of a goat willow, along with the emerging leaf buds. I only saw the fly when I downloaded it, and it's not as well focused as I should like, but I like the dramatic spiky shape of the catkin, a surprising contrast with the pussy willow from which it develops.
