The Dance

A sunny day for a return to the marsh and for a walk on the beach. What caught my eye this time was this intricate, rhythmic, interweaving of the roots on this uprooted tree that is one of many lying on the beach. The late afternoon sun was hitting it just enough to bring out the details that I had not noticed before. It is interesting how each of these uprooted trees has its "moment in the sun" and consequently, in the photographer's lens, depending on the weather, the time of day and how the light, shadows or the water play on them. You can pass them by day after day and not take notice. Then one of them will provide the perfect frame for the sunrise or for a swan swimming by. Another time, a pair of geese will be posed on top of another one, silhouetted against the water and the sky, just begging for your attention. On cold winter days, it is often the ice building up on them that makes them special and draws you to them. Today it was this root "sculpture". They certainly are a Blipper's best friend!
