Butterfly weed

Don’t you just love it when what looks like a stick standing in the soil decides to grow some tiny new leaves. Several of the butterfly weed (asclepias) are sprouted in three different flower beds. Good news for maybe getting some monarchs later this summer.

Working on the 300 plus photos I took at the sporting clay event Saturday. Determined to get them done and given to the sponsor. Too nice to be inside so I am taking a break to hose off the pollen that has accumulated on the porches. The rain helped but it is still on everything so we keep tracking it in the house.
