Bee-Line For The Beaches, Beefly In Flight

The temperature reached 25.6 degrees in Cambridgeshire today. The hottest March day since 1968. Now that the requirement to stay at home has been lifted many headed for the beaches.

The beautiful weather brought the bugs out in droves. I photographed peacock, brimstone, comma and orange tip butterflies. I captured a fat wasp in the kitchen and a constant hum could be heard from the pussy willows. I've decided to post a beefly in flight as it is the first I've seen this year. These insects don't take to the wing until the temperature reaches 17 degrees.
