Wood Anemones

We took full advantage of the second sunny day with a walk up to Detling, calling in at the Community Shop for a coffee and sausage roll (as we did last week: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2821517799296338258) which we consumed sitting on the war memorial bench at the top of the village looking south along the Main Street. Traffic noise was the only blot as we could hear the A249 behind us as we sat and the sound of the M20 all the time.

From there we walked to Thurnham through the newly planted vineyards to the sound of skylarks twittering above us. Our walked continued down Thurnham Lane where we joined to golf course footpaths for home. It was one the edge of woodlands alongside one of the fairways that we saw banks of wood anemones growing in profusion. Another shot for a Wildflower Week hosted by Miranda1008.

It was an afternoon in our own garden. I emptied the greenhouse, washed the glass inside and out and set up the table inside ready for the next batch of seeds. Susan was busy with hoeing and general tidying up.

A zoom with friends Al and Liz preceded dinner and afterwards a practice on our respective instruments. Perhaps in May we shall be able to meet up inside?
