Great Rock

On the moor at Higher Eastwood above Todmorden you will find this unusually knobbly gritstone outcrop with many initials carved into its face. It is also known as Devil’s Rock (apparently the Devil’s hoof mark can be seen on its top).  As a young lad I clambered over this for many years - there was often a little pool of water on the top, but no hoof mark - well, not one that I recognised as such ....
