Sabino Canyon

Tuesday
After a fairly early breakfast, Roger drove Jen to Tucson airport for her return flight to Salt Lake City, while I stayed at our accommodation to pack and clean up a bit. Roger and I had the rest of the day before returning to Phoenix late afternoon, ready for our morning flight tomorrow. Roger had been using a gel on his knee, and it was feeling much better, but we still wanted to be cautious. We returned to Sabino Canyon Recreational Area, but this time explored Sabino Canyon itself, rather than Bear Canyon that we had hiked the other day. Rather than hiking the trail up the canyon, we walked up the road, which is only open to the trams, which stop at eight different spots on the way up, so that way, if Roger had any problem, we could get the tram at the next stop. However, he was fine, and we walked all the way up to the turnaround point for the tram, and took the next tram down. It was a lovely walk, following the stream up, and gazing up to the high peaks either side. Then it was time to drive back to Phoenix and our hotel for the night.
